18 online gambling administrators nabbed in raid on Pattaya snooker hall

Police have raided a snooker hall in Pattaya and arrested 18 people for allegedly running illegal online gambling operations.

 

Police said that the hall, located on Soi 5 in Na Klua sub-district, was just a front for an illegal online gambling den,offering customers various kinds betting on boxing, cock fighting and soccer matches.

 

Fourteen men and four women were found administering gambling web pages at the time of the raid. Sixteen notebook computers and several smart phones were seized.

 

Pol Col Kulachart Kulachai, superintendent of Pattaya police, said that undercover officers had been monitoring the snookerhall for some time, after being tipped off by an informer.

 

He also said that police have expanded their investigation to identify the financier of this gambling racket, which is believed to have been moved from Pathum Thani to Pattaya.
