Well-known car racer "Benz Racing" or Akkarakit Woraroj-Charoendej reported to the Criminal Court today under his conditional release on bail after he becomes a suspect for money laundering charge in connection to the Laotian drug lord Xaysana Keawpimpha's syndicate.
Benz Racing appeared calm when he arrived at the court with his lawyer.
Narcotic Suppression Bureau police are also at the court to seek court's permission for the fifth extension of his detention for questioning.
Each extension is valid for 12 days.
The police said they expected to finish the investigation by the end of this month with conclusion if legal prosecution should be pursued against him for the money laundering charge.
His lawyer said his client remained confident of his innocence and no knowledge of the drug activities of the Laotian drug lord.
He said the court fixed the next report on May 5 as a condition for temporary release on bail, and also banned oversea trip.
His wife Naphapa Tantrakul or Pat, a well-known TV celebrity, also reported to police investigators last week to clarify her 1.9 million baht cash accounts in bank as police still have suspicion if the money was from her husband or earned from her entertainment job.
