Several districts in Rayong province briefly came under water on Wednesday after the province was struck by torrential rains for about four hours.
Several cars were submerged and traffic came to a standstill on several roads. Some images posted on the social media showed half-submerged cars with one image showing people trying to move a half-submerged car to higher ground.
The provincial public disasters prevention and mitigation office announced the closure of the impassable roads and advising motorists to use other roads which are still passable.
Bangkok and its peripherals as well as several eastern provinces were also hit by torrential rains, resulting to temporary flooding and traffic snarls.
