Bangkok: The government is urging students and those under the Student Loan Fund (SLF) to expedite the preparation of loan contracts and loan disbursement confirmation forms. Educational institutions are required to complete file uploads to the DSL system by November 15, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the government is committed to supporting education through the Student Loan Fund (SLF). This agency provides loans to underprivileged students from high school to bachelor’s degree levels, aiming to develop skills, reduce inequality, and create lifelong learning opportunities in both formal and non-formal education settings. The SLF has approved all loan applications for existing borrowers who are advancing their educational levels and new borrowers.

Ms. Airin emphasized the importance of borrowers expediting the preparation of necessary documents and signing them by the deadlines set by their educational institutions. Educational institutions are to confirm the information and attach the required contract files and loan disbursement confirmation forms to the DSL system. This must be completed before the Student Loan Fund (SLF) system closes on November 15, 2025.

For the 2025 academic year, the SLF has broadened its lending framework, benefiting over 800,000 students and borrowers. With a budget exceeding 50 billion baht, the focus is on providing loans to financially disadvantaged students and those in fields crucial to national needs. The loans cover educational expenses, easing the financial burden on students and their families, including living expenses, tuition, and other related costs.
