Health-threatening pollution over 10 areas of Bangkok and suburbs on Friday

Poor air quality today in ten areas in Bangkok and its peripherals has reached unhealthy levels, with the amount of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere exceeding the 50-micron safety threshold, according to the Air4thai air quality report by the Department of Pollution Control.

The ten areas are:

  • Kanhanapisek Road in Bang Khun Thian District ​​116 microns
  • Paknam sub-district of Muang district Samut Prakan province​ 115 microns
  • Chom Thong district​​​​​ 96 microns
  • Sukhumvit Road in Phra Khanong district​​​  94 microns
  • Bang Na-Trat highway Bang Na district​​​ 100 microns
  • Pahonyothin Road at Kasetsart intersection Chatuchak district​ 81 microns
  • Srinakharin Road in Prawet district​​​ 110 microns
  • Ma Charoen Road at Petkasem 81 Nong Khaem district​​ 97 microns
  • Bang Sao Thong sub-district, Bang Sao Thong of Samut Prakan ​101 microns
  • Mahachai sub-district Muang district of Samut Sakhon​​ 110 microns


The amount of PM10 dust, measured at between 84 and 184 microns, also exceeds safety levels in several areas of Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Sakhon.

These include:

  • Kanchanapisek Road in Bang Khun Thian district
  • Chong Nonsee sub–district in Yan Nawa district
  • Intharapitak Road in Thon Buri district
  • Rama 4 Road in Pathumwan district
  • Sukhumvit Road in Phra Khanong district
  • Krung Kasem Road in Pom Prab district
  • Vibhavadi Rangsit highway in Din Daeng district
  • Lat Phrao Road in Wang Thong Lang district
  • Ratburana Road in Ratburana district
  • Rama 5 Road in Dusit district
  • Din Daeng Road in Din Daeng district
  • Don Mueang district
  • Suan Sayam-Raminthra Road in Kan Na Yao district
  • Buddha Monthon Road in Taling Chan district
  • Pracha-uthit Road in Thung Khru district
  • Huay Khwang district
  • Lat Phrao district
  • Soi Sukhumvit 63 of Wattana district
