Integrity and Transparency Assessment of Government Contractors

The Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) between public agencies and the private organizations that are government contractors.

The MOU "Integrity and Transparency Assessment of Government Contractors” will be used as a major anti-corruption mechanism, in accordance with the National Strategy on the Prevention and Suppression of Corruption.

Signing the MOU were NACC Secretary-General Warawit Sukboon and executives of nine public and private organizations, namely (1) Comptroller General's Department, (2) State Enterprise Policy Office, (3) Department of Business Development, (4) Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, (5) Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), (6) Securities and Exchange Commission, (7) Thai Institute of Directors Association, (8) Thai Chamber of Commerce, and (9) Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand.

Also signing the MOU as witnesses were NACC President Police General Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit and NACC Commissioner Suwanna Suwanjuta.

Under this MOU, all the relevant agencies agree to work in collaboration against corruption practices. For instance, they will offer suggestions to promote the participation of state agencies and organizations responsible for supervising the operations of the private sector in developing points of assessment in order to set roadmaps and link with databases involved. The objective is to increase Thailand’s score in the Corruption Perceptions Index.

They will also jointly propose policies concerning the promotion of the Integrity and Transparency Assessment of Government Contractors in the public and private sectors. In addition, the body of knowledge and innovation development on this issue will be recommended, in line with ethics and related laws.

The NACC has cooperated with various agencies in reducing the risks of corruption in both the public and private sectors. It has also set anti-corruption measures in the policy agenda to tackle the corruption problem among state officials.
