Jatuporn Buruspat to Lead New Opportunity Party in 2026 Elections

Bangkok: Jatuporn Buruspat has announced his intention to lead the New Opportunity Party into the 2026 elections under the theme “Opportunity for All Thais,” signaling a push to create new hope for the nation amid economic and political uncertainty.

According to Thai News Agency, Jatuporn, a former Minister of Commerce and former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, has confirmed his readiness to guide the New Opportunity Party into the upcoming general elections. The party aims to serve as a fresh alternative that emphasizes uniting people across generations to restore Thailand’s potential on the global stage.

Jatuporn highlighted that the New Opportunity Party was established to create a “space of opportunity” for all Thai citizens. The party plans to leverage his experience in the public sector and the innovative perspectives of the younger generation to develop policies that are practical and effective.

Jatuporn emphasized the challenges Thailand currently faces, including a slowing domestic economy, rising debt, and increasing social inequality, amidst rapid progress by neighboring ASEAN countries. He expressed that many Thais have untapped potential and that the country requires a “new opportunity” to regain economic and social stability.

He further stated that the global shift towards AI technology and the digital economy offers a significant chance for Thailand, yet there is a lack of clear policies to prepare for these changes. The New Opportunity Party aims to be a platform for collaborative ideas and actions, moving beyond political conflicts to secure Thailand’s future and uphold its dignity on the international stage.
