Well-known Buddhist nun Mae Chee Sansanee Sathirasuta, who has been diagnosed with stomach cancer, has opted to pursue a natural method to treat her illness.
Mae Chee Sansanee, founder of Sathira Dhammasathan, a meditation centre in Bang Khen district, said at a news briefing on Wednesday that in April she went to see the doctors after having pains in the stomach, constipation and bleeding defecation.
The doctors found two lumps, each about 10 centimetres long, in the abdomen. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
After consulting with the doctors, she decided to treat her cancer with a natural method and changed her eating and working habits.
About two months after that, she went back to see the doctors and they found the lumps had shrank from 10 to 3cm long.
Only five months later, the sizes of the lumps reduced to only 1cm each, she said.
