New Chart Pattana Kla party leader vows to return prosperity to Thailand

Newly-elected leader of the Chart Pattana Kla Party, Korn Chatikavanij, has vowed to overhaul the Thai economy and bureaucracy, to bring prosperity and a better future for all Thais, with its motto “Dare to think and act anew”.

In his Facebook post yesterday (Sunday), he said he will open up better opportunities for the Thai people and truly believes that Thailand can prosper again and that its people can become wealthy, “but we must have the courage and start doing, now!”

The former leader of the Kla Party, Korn was nominated and elected the new party leader of Chart Pattana Kla Party yesterday, by party members at the general assembly held in Nakhon Ratchasima, replacing Tewan Liptapallop, who has become the new party secretary-general after standing down from the leadership position.

The assembly also elected a new 30-member executive board, following after the resignation of the former party leader.

About 80 key members of the Kla Party have joined the Chart Pattana Kla Party. Among them are Kobsak Sabhavasu and Atavit Suwannapakdee, who were elected as strategic chief and deputy leader of the Chart Pattana Kla Party respectively.

Korn said that Thailand has suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic for almost three years and is now suffering from the effects of the war in Ukraine, which will drag the Thai economy to rock bottom “if something is not done now and correctly.”

This crisis has been ignored by the political powers, he claimed.
