Bangkok Mass Transit Authority will put on service five of its new NGV-powered bus fleet to ferry mourners to Sanam Luang on December 21.
Government spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said yesterday that the five NGV buses will be put on service on a trial basis to test its efficiency.
They will be used to ferry people to Sanam Luang to pay respect to the late King on December 21.
He said the five buses are among the first lot of 100 buses already arrived in Thailand.
The rest of the first lot will also be put in service on 22 routes in Bangkok.
BMTA ordered a total of 489 NGV-powered buses from China. The rest will be delivered and arrive in Thailand by December 29.
