Oman Fisheries will be facilitating a training programme under which four citizens will be sent to Thailand.
The five-day training programme titled, ‘Implementation of GMP and HACCP Manufacturing’, will begin on September 1 and will be held at Dech Reefer Co. Of the four selected for the training programme, three work with the Ministry of Defence while the fourth is an employee of Oman Fisheries.
Training in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) will help participating employees understand principles and applications of HACCP so that they can go about implementing processes and systems in their companies. This ensures that products are contamination-free and meet customer requirements, by following global food safety practices. They will be trained in hazard analysis and critical control processes, which are essential tools to ensure proper functioning of the company’s food safety management system, said Shanmugham, AGM-operations, Oman Fisheries.
This is the second training programme facilitated by OFC, under its corporate social responsibility initiative.
