Perfect World Inks Partnership Agreement With UNESCO

BEIJING, Nov. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Perfect World Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 28th (local time in Beijing). Perfect World, a leading online game developer and operator in China, plans to make contributions to global education and cultural exchanges through the "Rapprochement of Cultures" initiative, taking the responsibility for driving next-generation Chinese internet companies to undertake social responsibilities through the initiative’s international platform.

The same afternoon, Vivien Wang, Perfect World’s senior vice president and official spokesman, inked a partnership agreement with Jacques Rao, Secretary-General of UNESCO’s Division of Secretariat with Member States and International Organizations. Hao Ping, deputy director of the Ministry of Education of China and president of the 37th session of UNESCO, and Du Yue, Secretary-General of China’s National Commission for UNESCO, attended the signing ceremony.

Both parties said in the cooperation plan that they seek to promote cultural harmony through collaboration given the great impact of culture and education on society in today’s era of global networking.

Hao Ping said during the signing ceremony that he looks forward to many of China’s leading internet companies, like Perfect World, actively taking part in major events that will be organized by UNESCO through the platform.

Ms. Wang, the senior vice president of Perfect World, commented that with the rapid development of internet technologies, cultural communications have becomemore widespread and efficient, giving birth toa wider variety of educational methods and further promoting the integration of civilizations.
