Peru: President cancels travel authorization request to attend APEC meeting in Thailand

LIMA, President Pedro Castillo on Friday informed Congress of his decision to cancel his request for travel authorization to Thailand, which had been initially aimed at participating in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum.

Via his official Twitter account, the Head of State indicated that he had informed Parliament of this withdrawal.

Besides, the top official lamented the delay by Congress, which once again —he said— compromises Peru’s foreign policy.

On Nov 2, the President of the Republic requested Parliament’s authorization to travel abroad, from Nov 14 to 21, to attend the 29th Economic Leaders’ Meeting at the APEC Forum and related events in Bangkok, Thailand.
