Bangkok: ‘Phradon’ recently held a meeting with the command center to ensure comprehensive services for the public paying respects to ‘Phra Pan Pi Luang’. Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, chaired this meeting at the Coordination and Administration Center for the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
According to Thai News Agency, the Cabinet resolved to divide the committee into nine distinct groups, including the Coordination and Administration Center specifically for the royal cremation ceremony. Discussions were held with relevant agencies to streamline services for citizens traveling to Bangkok for the occasion. Preparations were initiated to facilitate the visit, with each province and district tasked with creating a queue schedule to manage daily attendance.
The Sanam Luang area is designated as a command center for essential services such as food, medical care, health, and emergency assistance, aimed at offering convenience to the public. The Ministry of Transport will oversee the movement of people from other provinces, as private vehicle transport poses challenges for the Royal Ceremony. Parking facilities outside the Grand Palace and public transport will be essential for reaching the Grand Palace.
Additionally, the government plans to coordinate volunteers to assist attendees. Initially, the meeting called for committee agencies to review their missions and responsibilities, taking cues from King Rama IX’s royal ceremonies. A joint progress review meeting is scheduled for November 3rd.
The Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office later guided the media through the Coordination Center for the Royal Cremation Ceremony to prepare for public facilitation and coordination.
