PM invites parents to bring their children to visit Government House today

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha on Friday invited children to visit the Government House on Children's Day today (Saturday) where, he said, there are many edutainment activities being arranged for them besides the usual ritual of sitting on his chair when he convenes a cabinet meeting.

The prime minister said parents should bring their children to the Government House to watch an animation picture, entitled Magic Town of Imaginary City, which was based on the story, Magic Town: the World's Capital which was authored by the late Supreme Patriarch in 1970.

He said that he wanted Thailand, Thai people and children to be like the characters shown in the animation picture that is to have conscience, to be able to distinguish good from bad.

To prevent children from getting lose while touring the spacious Government House, he asked parents to jote down their names and their children's names plus the phone number in the badges or a piece of paper to be put down in their pockets.

On the occasion of Teachers' Day on Monday, the prime minister said that teachers today should not be likened to a boatman for hire like before whose duty was to bring his/her students from one side of a river to another.

Teachers today should expand their role like a bridge that the government and the National Council for Peace and Order has been trying to perform to bring knowledge to the communities, to strengthen their wisdom with the King's knowledge and the philosophy of sufficiency economy upon Pracharath mechanism for prosperity and improvement of livelihood, said the prime minister.
