Police Invite ‘Panthep’ to Provide Additional Information on ‘Lawyer Tum’ Case.

Bangkok: Police have invited Mr. Panthep Puapongphan, Dean of the College of Oriental Medicine at Rangsit University, to provide additional information as a witness in the high-profile ‘Lawyer Tum’ case. The case involves allegations of fraud, where 39 million baht was allegedly divided among several parties, and a process to create a will for ‘Madam Oi’ with ‘Lawyer Tum’ as the estate manager has been uncovered. The evidence is set to be revealed on the Sonthi Talk program.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Panthep traveled to meet with investigators after Ms. Chatuporn Ubonlert, also known as Madam Oi, filed a complaint against Mr. Sittra Biabangkerd, a lawyer, and his group on charges of fraud. Mr. Panthep was invited by police to serve as a witness, as he was present when Ms. Chatuporn lodged her complaint. On this occasion, Madam Oi and her group visited Baan Phra Athit to express gratitude to Mr. Sonthi Limthongkul and the media for their support in covering the case. They conducted additional intervi
ews, and it was announced that more video clips will be released in the future.

Mr. Panthep expressed confidence that there will be progress in the fraud case involving 39 million baht, noting that the allocation of funds by the accused is now clear. Both Madam Oi and the police are reportedly aware of the details.

A significant aspect of the investigation centers on suspicions regarding Lawyer Tum’s attempts to have Madam Oi adopt her own son. It was discovered that in 2022-2023, two wills were created concerning Madam Oi’s overseas assets. The first lacked an executor, but the second named Lawyer Tum as the executor. This year, Madam Oi grew suspicious and executed a new will through a government agency. However, Lawyer Tum has not returned the previous will, claiming it was destroyed, despite not doing so in Madam Oi’s presence. These developments are expected to strengthen the case.

Further concerning revelations include the installation of a GPS device in Madam Oi’s car and orchestrating situations wh
ere she was left in areas with no signal, leading her to feel unsafe. She believes a key witness is the sister of Lawyer Tum’s wife, who has already provided a statement to the police. Madam Oi suspects the sister may not be complicit in Lawyer Tum’s actions but could be involved in financial transactions. She is seen as a critical witness who can provide factual and valuable information, potentially without bias.

Madam Oi’s recent visit to Baan Phra Athit was her third, during which she reiterated her trust in the justice system and the evidence. She thanked the media and the public for their support, acknowledging the widespread recognition she now receives. For safety reasons, she intends to remain home as her case continues to unfold.
