Military personnel and police searched the houses of some politicians and an influential businessman in Mae Sot district of Tak province under the pretext of security.
The officials searched a cargo depot and a warehouse storing second-hand cars belonging to an influential businessman in Mae Sot district. Details of the raid were not available as they were kept confidential and reporters were not allowed to take photos or VDO of the event, claiming confidentiality.
More searches were conducted on the houses of local and national politicians, including Mr Adisak Asmeemana, former advisor to public health minister of the Pheu Thai-led government. Again, there were no details of the operations.
On Wednesday, the house of Mr Chaivuth Bannawat, deputy leader of the Democrat party and former industry minister, was among several houses in Tak searched by police and military personnel.
