The Treasury Department will accept advance bookings of commemorative coins on the occasion that HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was granted the the most outstanding award for creativity by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The commemorative coins are available in three denominations: 16,000 baht gold which is priced at 30,000 baht, only 5,000 coins are available; 800-baht silver coins which are priced at 1,600 baht apiece, only 30,000 coines are available; and 20-baht coins made of copper and nickel which are priced at 20 baht each, one million coins are available.
Treasury Department director-general Chakkrit Parapanthakul said Wednesday that people who are interested to book the coins can contact post offices throughout the country as of March 30 until April 30. Or they can log in with the website of the department and make the bookings.
Booking fees range from 375 baht/coin for gold coins, 40 baht/coin for silver coins and 38 baht per set of five coins for copper and nickel coins. All coins are to be distributed as of July 1.
