SET Alerts Investors on Scam Emails Impersonating Exchange

Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has issued a warning to investors about fraudulent emails from individuals falsely claiming to be members of the organization. These emails are part of a scam designed to deceive recipients into investing in schemes involving cryptocurrency.

According to Thai News Agency, the SET cautions investors not to fall for emails that impersonate the exchange. These emails aim to mislead the public by persuading them to click on links under the guise of receiving cryptocurrency, a tactic used by a group of fraudsters.

The SET advises against believing advertisements that falsely claim association with the exchange. These advertisements contain misleading information intended to deceive investors. The warning extends to fake accounts, pages, or social media platforms that misuse the SET’s logo and name, as well as the names and images of SET executives and notable figures in the capital market.

Investors are urged to remain vigilant and assume any unsolicited invitations to invest or receive investment information using the SET’s identity may be part of a scam.
