BANGKOK, Aug. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Webster University Thailand recently invited Thai AirAsia to share real-world knowledge of the role of digital technology in business with students during a one-day session on June 24, 2015 on the topic of External Communications in the Digital Age. The session focused on the vital role of tech innovations in business communications and in creating corporate social media strategies.
The hands-on event with the airline’s Senior Digital Manager Karen Chan Lye May and Corporate Communications Supervisor Krittiyawadee Pongpanich gave students valuable insights into AirAsia’s unique PR campaigns, as well as highlighting the importance of social media in today’s digital and tech-driven society.
The day comprised part of the course for undergraduates at Webster University studying Issues in Management: Management in the Digital Age, as well as students from the Master of Arts in Media Communications course.

Speaking after the session at Webster University, Karen Chan Lye May, Senior Digital Manager of Thai AirAsia, said: “It was a pleasure to share my experience at AirAsia with Webster University students in our session about External Communications in the Digital Age. When AirAsia first started, the internet was not as widely accessible as it is today. Today, we know that social media and understanding how to do business in the digital age is a necessary skill. Coming from a company that has always believed in the use of innovation and technology, we are pleased to see that Webster University offers such a course in order to prepare students for the future where the speed and impact of information is extremely fast, powerful and influential.”
