Bangkok: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is launching “Vijit Chao Phraya 2025,” a festival showcasing the light of Siam, Mother Earth, shining on both sides of the Chao Phraya River from November 9 to December 23. The event is expected to attract over 1.5 million tourists.
According to Thai News Agency, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, inaugurated the “Vijit Chao Phraya 2025” event organized by the TAT. Running from November 9 to December 23, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the 45-night event will transform the Chao Phraya Riverbank into a dazzling spectacle through 15 performances. This year’s theme, “Light of Siam, Mother of the Land,” is a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
Mr. Atthakorn highlighted that this year’s Vijit Chao Phraya 2025 has been extended to 45 days, enhancing the year-end tourism atmosphere in Thailand. The event will feature cutting-edge light and sound displays on bridges, temples, historic buildings, and new landmarks along the river. It aims to revitalize nighttime tourism by offering nightlife experiences, with expectations of attracting over 1.5 million visitors and generating at least 6 billion baht in revenue.
For this year’s event, the TAT has partnered with various entities to present 15 light and sound shows, each showcasing a distinct local identity. Notably, the Rama VIII Bridge will feature “Royal Grace, Stream to Rama 8,” a display of river beauty through laser and light shows, occurring six times daily from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan will be illuminated under the theme ‘Dawn of Siam,’ transforming the nighttime view into a display reminiscent of the dawn of Rattanakosin.
A key highlight will be the area around the Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge, featuring a display of 500-1,000 drones under the theme “Light of Siam, Mother of the Land.” The 500-drone display is scheduled for November 14th and 21st, and December 5th, 12th, and 19th at 8:45 PM. The 1,000-drone display will occur on November 9th, 15th, 22nd, 28th, and 29th, and December 6th, 13th, and 20th, 2025.
