Bangkok: The Thai Army is strong. The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand is satisfied with the athletes’ performance which is improving in order. “Big Kong” is pleased with the athletes’ performance, which is improving gradually in the final one month before the 33rd SEA Games. He is ready to open “Thai House” to provide complete sports science services from now and during the competition in 3 main cities to fulfill the potential of the Thai athletes.
According to Thai News Agency, the 33rd SEA Games, which Thailand will host from December 9-20, 2025, will feature 50 main sports, with athletes competing for 574 gold medals. Additionally, there will be 3 demonstration sports and 1 value-creating sport. The games will take place in Bangkok, Chonburi Province, and Songkhla Province, with the opening ceremony scheduled for December 9, 2025, at the Rajamangala National Stadium, overseen by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) in Hua Mak.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, the Governor of SAT, highlighted that the Thai athletes preparing for the 2025 SEA Games have shown significant improvement in their fitness levels. Reports from the SAT’s Sports Science Center indicate that as of now, 95 percent of athletes are rated in the good to very good fitness range. Dr. Kongsak expressed confidence that this figure will reach 100 percent by the time the games commence.
The Governor emphasized the importance of injury prevention during the final preparation phase. He called on the Sports Association of Thailand to monitor athletes closely, along with their coaching staff, to avoid injuries. The SAT is committed to focusing on sports science, nutrition, and sports psychology, in alignment with the directives of Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, who has underlined the role of sports science in athlete preparation.
Thai national athletes can avail themselves of services at the SAT’s Sports Science Center, which acts as a support hub, termed “Thai House,” during international competitions. This center offers comprehensive services, extending beyond Bangkok to support athletes in Chonburi and Songkhla provinces during the competitions.
The Sports Science Center of SAT has been established to prepare national athletes with facilities for physical fitness testing using modern equipment. It provides medical treatment, physical therapy, rehabilitation, dentistry, psychology, biomechanics, and game analysis. The center, headquartered at Hua Mak, also extends its services to various regions, supporting training facilities for different sports.
