Thai high-school students have bagged 10 medals from Southeast Mathematics Olympiad 2017 held in the southeastern Chinese province of Jiangxi during July 28-August 6.
The Thai contingent is made up of 12 male and female high-school students from five schools in Bangkok and Petchaburi, according to Mr Pramote Kachornpai, an advisor to the International Learning Quality Development Programme of the Office of the Primary Education Commission.
The Thai students have competed against their peers from Hong Kong, China, Macao, Indonesia and the Philippines. And they reaped 10 medals, including one gold, four silver and five bronzes.
Besides bring fame to the country, Mr Pramote said that competition would give opportunity for Thai students to show off their capability in mathematics, to exchange views and knowledge with their peers in the other countries and to learn which will enhance their vision and creativity.
