Toon arrives at Bang Saphan as donations hit B330m

Rocker Artiwara Kongmalai, better known as Toon Bodyslam, on Saturday (Nov 25) arrived at Bang Saphan district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province in the lower Central as donations for his charity run hit 330 million baht.

As of 8.30pm on Saturday, Toon completed 900 kilometers at Bang Saphan district.

Bang Saphan is a special district for Toon and his team as it was where they first launch the charity run to mobilize donations for Bang Saphan Hospital in December 2016.

Toon ran 400km for 10 days from Suankularb Wittayalai School in Bangkok to Bang Saphan Hospital, taking 85 million baht in donations from the Thai people.

Running along with him today included well-known Thai boxing star Buakaw Banchamek, actors, actresses and members of his support team.

He was greeted on arrival by Sakarin Thunsen, the Bang Saphan district chief, Dr Surin Suebsung, chief of the provincial health office, and Pol Col Supol Ruamsuk, the district police chief.

A special show with more than 500 performers was arranged for Toon, who appeared fresh and healthy after a two-day rest from injuries.

Toon will start his run on Sunday at 4am from the Green Sea View Resort.

The 38-year-old rocker is vying to complete a 2,191-kilometre run from Yala to Chiang Rai to raise funds for 11 state-run hospitals.
