BANGKOK, Thailand A video of four divers playing cards for money under sea in southern Thailand could probably swamp the divers with prosecution, Xinhua news agency reported, quoting local media Tuesday.
The video, named “card school”, went viral on social media early March. In the video, many coins are clearly visible near four people who are playing games under the sea in Krabi, one of Thailand’s famous island destination.
Anurak Parinyasathitakun, a Krabi water police said the video might be filmed abroad, adding that if it was filmed in Thailand, the four divers could face prosecution.
The case is under investigation. Gambling, including playing cards and casinos are illegal in Thailand, a pre-dominantly Buddhist country where people consider gambling as one of the four vices which lead to ruin.
