A comedian wellknown under the name of Thuarae Chernyim or Mr Sornsutha Klunmalee, his real name, lodged a complaint with Muang Nan district police on Saturday (Dec 16) that some unknown elements had used his name to set up a Facebook page to criticize the Monarchy and the government.
Thuarae told the police inquiry officer that he was recently informed by a relative that his name and image had been misused by unknown people to post statements deemed critical to the Monarchy and to the military regime.
He said that he had to come forward to the police to show his innocence that he had nothing to do with the improper Facebook page.
The comedian further said he would file similar complaint with the anti-computer crime police to try to track down the perpetrator or perpetrators so that legal action could be taken against them.
He also warned his colleagues in the show business to exercise caution in the use of social media and to keep monitoring if their names or images are misused by unauthorized persons.
