Bangkok: Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People’s Party (P.P.P.), along with Mr. Sarayut Jai Lak, the secretary-general, has announced a strategic plan for future elections, emphasizing the creation of an exemplary government. The announcement was made following the annual general meeting of the People’s Party, where it was resolved to amend regulations to enhance member connectivity and prepare for the upcoming 2027 election. This initiative comes amid the party’s commitment to foster democracy and respond to national challenges.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sarayut highlighted that the recent general meeting was conducted within the legal framework, requiring a comprehensive report on the party’s past year performance. This included financial statements and proposed improvements to party regulations aimed at facilitating smoother operations. The meeting was complemented by a two-day seminar focused on strengthening the party’s infrastructure, increasing membership, and ensuring financial support from the populace.

In preparation for the next election, the People’s Party is working on two main fronts: aligning their policies with the public’s needs for 2027 and preparing competent candidates through a meticulous selection process. Training programs for aspiring politicians commenced in early April and will continue until June 13, as part of the party’s efforts to attract individuals passionate about politics.

Mr. Sarayut further discussed the necessity of developing policies that resonate with regional differences, urging public participation in policy creation. Mr. Natthapong reinforced the party’s dedication to not only winning elections but also establishing a government capable of addressing national issues, such as corruption and ineffective governance. He emphasized the importance of building public confidence and presenting future policies centered around politics, civil service reform, and economic development.

The economic policy, historically a strength of the Pheu Thai Party, is now being re-evaluated by the People’s Party as they seek to offer viable solutions to the public. Mr. Natthapong expressed confidence that transparent politics, responsive civil services, and robust economic strategies devoid of corruption are paramount to meeting public expectations.

Addressing potential voter abstentions in the upcoming election, Mr. Natthapong stressed the party’s commitment to effective campaigning and communication with the electorate. He assured that the People’s Party’s dedication to its policies remains steadfast, aiming to present them as the best options for the nation.

Regarding possible alliances, Mr. Natthapong clarified that the People’s Party is unlikely to join forces with the current government structure, which he believes fails to prioritize public interests. He reiterated that any collaboration with Pheu Thai would require acknowledgment of past mistakes and a commitment to shared political conditions.

In conclusion, Mr. Natthapong underscored the People’s Party’s objective to not just secure electoral victory but to address the country’s challenges comprehensively. The evolving political landscape and potential legal challenges involving former MPs are being actively managed by the party’s legal team, ensuring continued focus on their political mission.
