18-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed in Don Mueang, Police Search for Suspects

Bangkok: An 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed in front of a somtum restaurant on Chang Akat Uthit Road in the Don Mueang area. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to track down the perpetrator.

According to Thai News Agency, Don Mueang police received a report of a man stabbed to death at the Sirisuk intersection on Chang Akat Uthit Road in Don Mueang district, Bangkok, late last night. At the scene, they found the body of Mr. Thanawin, 18 years old, from Phitsanulok province, wearing shorts and a black crew-neck t-shirt, lying in a pool of blood in front of a somtum shop. He had been stabbed once in the chest and once in the back with a sharp object. A gun and a sharp knife were found near the deceased. Later, officers determined that the gun was a fake.

Initial reports indicate that the deceased was playing snooker at a bar when a group of three teenagers approached his table. One of them then chased and stabbed the deceased with a sharp knife. The deceased ran away from the snooker table, pulled out a fake gun to threaten them, and sought help at a somtum restaurant before collapsing and dying. After the incident, the teenagers fled on an unidentified motorcycle.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the perpetrators for legal prosecution. The body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy at Bhumibol Hospital before being released to relatives for funeral rites.
