191 Police arrest two youths for promoting illegal street races via Facebook pages

Petrol and Special Operation Division police or widely known as 191 Police today arrested two teenagers after finding them using social media to promote illegal racing on the streets.

Commander of 191 Police Pol Maj Surachet Hakparn said the two suspects used their Facebook pages to promote street races.

The arrest came after weeks of investigation and tracking of people using their Facebook pages to promote and organise meets of teenagers on streets for motorcycle or car races.

They detected the two web pages Rod Sing Phraram 3 (Rama 3 Car Race) and Kon Non Kor Sing (Have Racing before Sleeping) were responsible for promoting illegal street races among teenagers.

The two webpage owners are identified as Sanya Krutchin, and Sunthorn Chooprasert.

Sanya was arrested while walking on pavement in Yannawa area and later was detained at Thung Mahamek police station, while Sunthorn was arrested on Sukhumvit 55 road, and was detained at Thong Lor police station.
