1st Army Region Commander Calls on Cambodia for Evacuation Plan Submission by October 7th

Banteay meanchey: The 1st Army Region commander has urged Cambodia to submit a plan for evacuating Cambodian citizens by October 7th. The 1st Army Region has requested that the 5th Military Region prepare a plan for evacuating Cambodian citizens by October 7 and present it to the RBC forum before attending the meeting as invited.

According to Thai News Agency, on October 3, 2025, reporters reported that the Commander of Army Region 1 sent an urgent document to the Commander of Military Region 5 of Cambodia. The details stated that Military Region 5 had scheduled a special meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Military Region 5 and Army Region 1 for three days from October 10-13, 2025. This time, Cambodia would host the meeting in Banteay Meanchey Province, Kingdom of Cambodia. Lieutenant General Aek Somonee, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army/Commander of Military Region 5, and Lieutenant General Worayot Leungsuwan, Commander of Army Region 1, were invited to
chair the joint meeting.

The First Army Region has requested that the 5th Military Region prepare an evacuation plan for Cambodian citizens in the areas of Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, and Ban Ta Phraya, Ta Phraya District, Sa Kaeo Province, covering a total of three areas. The evacuation plan must be submitted to the First Army Region by October 7, 2025, and presented at the RBC meeting. Major Sarayut Chanprayong, Assistant Operations Officer, First Army Region, has been assigned to be the coordinator for this task.

The directive was officially signed by Lieutenant General Worayot Leungsuwan, Commander of the 1st Army Area, emphasizing the urgency and importance of the matter at hand.
