2025 SEA Games to Feature Unprecedented Live Broadcast Coverage

Bangkok: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has announced that the 33rd SEA Games, set to occur in Thailand from December 9-20, 2025, will be the most extensively broadcasted in the history of the event.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, the SAT Governor, stated that over 30 sports will be covered across multiple platforms. This initiative aims to focus on international and popular sports, enhancing the prestige of the SEA Games in alignment with the Asian Games and the Olympic Games.

The 2025 SEA Games will feature a total of 50 competitive sports, alongside three demonstration sports and one value-added sport. The main venues for these events will be Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla. National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) will lead the broadcasting efforts, in collaboration with the Television Station for Tourism and Sports (T-Sport 7) and numerous media partners. These entities will ensure comprehensive coverage, with the potential for sports associations and federations in Thailand to broadcast specific sports on their own platforms for non-commercial purposes.

Dr. Kongsak emphasized that the primary focus will be on international and popular sports that resonate with Thai sports fans. These include football, volleyball, badminton, athletics, swimming, taekwondo, weightlifting, boxing, and takraw. Furthermore, the event aims to spotlight new-generation sports such as esports, which have the potential to grow into the Asian Games or Olympic Games.

For sports not broadcast live, recordings will be made to summarize results and create highlights for future broadcasts. The SAT Governor assured that Thai sports fans across the nation will have the opportunity to fully engage with the events and support their athletes throughout the 33rd SEA Games.
