23 More Thai Nationals Safely Return from Iran Amid Ongoing Evacuation Efforts

Bangkok: Another group of 23 Thai nationals evacuated from Iran has successfully returned to Thailand, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This latest return brings the total number of evacuees in this operation to 52.

According to Thai News Agency, the group arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport this morning at 8:20 AM, with most of the returnees being students. The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vichavat Isarabhakdi, was present at the airport to welcome them back. He informed that the first group of 52 Thai nationals had returned over the past two days, and plans are underway to evacuate an additional 69 individuals. These evacuees are traveling by car from Tehran to Van, Turkey, before boarding flights back to Thailand.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively coordinating with Iranian, Israeli, and US authorities to ensure the safety of these evacuation routes. Currently, there are still at least 130 Thai nationals in Iran, with the Thai embassy providing ongoing support and encouraging their departure. Additionally, some Thai nationals in other Middle Eastern nations, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, have expressed interest in returning to Thailand.
