Bangkok: The Commander of the 2nd Army Region has urged the public to disregard fabricated news related to politics, emphasizing his commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty, the monarchy, and the people.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang addressed the misuse of his image on social media, which was paired with politically motivated messages. He warned that such fake news is designed to create trends and incite misunderstandings, reiterating his stance of not engaging in political matters. “Let them talk about politics. We have a duty to protect the sovereignty of the nation, religion, monarchy, and the people. This is the duty of the military,” Lt. Gen. Boonsin stated.
Lt. Gen. Boonsin also mentioned his upcoming retirement, reaffirming his position by saying, “Even though I’m retiring in a few days, I’m a soldier and I definitely won’t get involved in politics.”
