Bangkok: Engineer troops organized the An Ma Pass area after taking decisive control of the battle line. The 2nd Army Region has dispatched a contingent of engineers to organize the Chong An Ma area after decisively securing the battlefront.
According to Thai News Agency, on December 20, 2025, the 2nd Army Area Command deployed a contingent of engineers to the Chong An Ma area to organize and restore the border area after Thai forces had decisively taken control of the combat zone. The mission focused on restoring and improving the area to ensure order and security.
The report states that military engineers have excavated and demolished structures, including the Ta-om Monument and the Chong An Ma Market, which are located on Thai territory, in order to level the area and remove obstacles that could affect security and safety in the border region.
The operation was part of a post-containment area reorganization measure to strengthen border security and prepare for future area management. The military confirmed that the mission was carried out according to plan and within the legal framework and national security mandates.
