4th Franchise for Career Opportunity Roadshow Kicks Off in Songkhla

Songkhla: The Department of Business Development is spearheading efforts to bolster regional economic growth with the launch of the 4th Franchise for Career Roadshow. This initiative aims to bring together entrepreneurs and potential investors in Songkhla and neighboring provinces, leveraging the franchise model to drive income generation and revitalize the southern economy. The event is taking place at Central Hat Yai, Songkhla, from April 3-6, 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, appointed Mr. Sathaporn Ruamnapaya, Deputy Director-General, to oversee the opening ceremony of this significant event. The roadshow is designed as a vital platform to showcase the capabilities of entrepreneurs in Southern Thailand, facilitating investment in various franchise business models. It also aims to stimulate job creation, career development, and income generation, thereby enhancing the local economy's competitiveness. This aligns with the Ministry of Commerce's policy to invigorate the grassroots economy and empower Thai entrepreneurs to compete in the modern economy.

The success of the previous Franchise Roadshows (1st: December 19-22, 2025, at Central Sriracha; 2nd: January 15-18, 2026, at Central Chiang Mai (Central Festival); and 3rd: March 5-8, 2026, at Central Udon Thani) has been notable, attracting over 800 visitors and generating franchise sales exceeding 600 million baht. This marks a significant advancement in strengthening the Thai franchise business sector and providing access to a standardized franchise business model for interested parties in the region.

The roadshow features 40 prominent franchise businesses that have received support and development from the Department, spanning sectors such as food, beverage, services, education, and beauty/spa to meet modern consumer demands. It includes investment consultations, business matching, and business development programs to ensure quality growth. The aim is to prepare both new and established entrepreneurs for effective integration into the franchise system and enhance their understanding of franchise businesses, which offer a standardized business model with long-term growth potential.

Songkhla Province is recognized as a high-potential economic hub in Southern Thailand, combining traditional and emerging entrepreneurial activities to foster significant business activity. With strong potential in tourism and border trade, organizing a franchise-based job creation roadshow in the region can stimulate employment, especially in the aftermath of last year's devastating floods that severely impacted property and SMEs, leaving many without income. By promoting franchise businesses developed by the Department, the initiative aims to create jobs, generate income, and rejuvenate the economy, offering sustainable employment and income opportunities for locals. It also provides avenues for those seeking supplementary income or the unemployed to become business owners, minimizing the risks associated with starting a business from scratch.

Director-General Poonpong concluded that entrepreneurs, citizens, and interested parties in Songkhla province and surrounding areas looking for business opportunities are invited to participate in the 4th Franchise for Career Roadshow, free of charge. The event promises to offer new business insights, create investment opportunities, and contribute to the robust and sustainable growth of the local economy.
