63 Gamblers Face Legal Proceedings; Five Senior Officers Under Scrutiny

Samut prakan: Police are preparing to take 63 gamblers to court for remand this afternoon, and are poised to prosecute five senior officers from Phra Samut Chedi Police Station. Progress in the "Pak Nam Closure" gambling den case has led to significant legal actions as authorities move swiftly to address the situation.

According to Thai News Agency, administrative officials have detained all 63 suspects and brought them to Phra Samut Chedi Police Station in Samut Prakan Province for legal proceedings. Among the detainees are nine Myanmar nationals. Following continuous questioning throughout the night, it is expected that investigators will bring all suspects before the district court this afternoon to proceed with legal action.

Regarding the responsibility of the police officers in the area, the Samut Prakan Provincial Police Commander has ordered the local police stations to urgently submit written explanations of the facts. He will then consider whether the incident warrants disciplinary action or the transfer of the five senior officers at Phra Samut Chedi Police Station.
