Father and Son Embark on 700-Kilometer Journey to Honor the Queen Mother

Bangkok: A father and son traveled by motorcycle with a sidecar from Surat Thani to Bangkok to pay homage in front of a portrait of Her Majesty the Queen Mother.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Seksan Sritham, a 63-year-old laborer from Makham Tia Subdistrict, Mueang District, Surat Thani Province, and his 16-year-old son undertook this journey on a three-wheeled motorcycle. The vehicle prominently displayed portraits of Her Majesty the Queen Mother and King Rama IX.

The duo embarked on their journey from Surat Thani Province, covering a distance of over 700 kilometers. Their route was designed to allow them to travel approximately 150-200 kilometers per day, with the entire journey expected to take around three days. This trip marked their sixth pilgrimage to pay respects, with the first being in 2016, when they walked the entire distance in 15 days following the passing of King Rama IX.

Their dedication is further symbolized by tattoos on their arms, with the left arm reading “I was born in the reign of King Rama IX,” and the right arm stating “Long Live the King.” The journey is a testament to their unwavering respect and homage to the royal family.
