Bangkok: ESRI (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a member of the CDG Group, recently organized the 30th Thai Geospatial Information Technology Conference, known as the Thai GIS User Conference 2026 (TUC 2026). The event was held under the theme "GIS - Creating a More Intelligent World," focusing on the integration of 'GeoAI' technology with the ArcGIS platform to aid strategic decision-making and operations across both public and private sectors. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Prae Panthumvanich, President of ESRI (Thailand) Co., Ltd., highlighted the critical role of upgrading GeoAI in connecting big data with spatial dimensions. This advancement enables organizations to gain a comprehensive understanding of situational contexts, enhancing capabilities in in-depth analysis and forecasting for effective planning and management. The initiative is driven by three key mechanisms: AI Tools and Models: These tools provide advanced analytics for detecting changes and assessing spatial risks, including flood risk assessmen t, satellite imagery analysis, and drone data analysis. AI Assistants: Intelligent systems that support natural language commands to simplify access to spatial information for operators at all levels. Agentic AI: This mechanism links cross-system workflows into automated models, facilitating quick and systematic task assessment and assignment. Additionally, Dr. Sumitra Wattana, Director-General of the Department of Land Development, presented on the successful development of the 'Agri-Map' system. This central agricultural geographic information system, also known as MOAC One Map, integrates a variety of data, including agricultural, soil, water, livestock, and socio-economic information. Through AI technology, it supports land suitability assessments, cash crop yield forecasting, and damage evaluation from natural disasters. These capabilities aim to reduce costs, increase production efficiency, and bolster the sustainable security of Thai farmers. The TUC 2026 event signifies a major advancement in brin ging geographic information systems (GIS) into the AI era, supporting the transition to a digital government and improving the efficiency of national resource management.
