Abhisit and Anucha Engage with Ratchathewi Muslims, Commit to Review Budgets

Ratchathewi: Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, alongside Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri and Ms. Thaddao Tangtrongcharoen, Bangkok City Council candidates for Ratchathewi district, have embarked on a campaign at Darul Aman Mosque to engage with Muslim community leaders and Thai-Muslim residents. Navigating through the narrow streets of the district, Mr. Anucha received a warm welcome from the community, who showed their support by offering him roses. The community leaders highlighted the need for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to focus on infrastructure development and vocational training to transform the area into a cultural tourism hub. Mr. Anucha stressed the importance of cooperation from all sectors to revitalize Bangkok, with the party's City Council members playing a crucial role in addressing the people's needs.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anucha expressed satisfaction with the public's response, noting the high interest in his five policy areas, particularly the investigation of procurement and budget irregularities. He emphasized that the public demands a more thorough investigation if elected and assured that the oversight process at the BMA will be intensified. Mr. Anucha also invited the public to join his major rally, where he will discuss his work comprehensively. The rally will be broadcast via Facebook Live on the Democrat Party's page at 6:00 PM.

Mr. Abhisit noted that Mr. Anucha's consistent visits to the area have garnered increased public attention, largely due to the presentation of his vision and policy details that were previously unknown to many. He considered this a success in informing the public and pledged to continue engaging with citizens until the campaign period concludes.
