Abhisit Vejjajiva Electrifies Hat Yai with Campaign Visit and Nostalgic Autographs

Hat yai: Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, along with party executives, visited Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, to campaign for the Democrat Party's parliamentary candidates in Songkhla: Mr. Juri Numkaew (Constituency 2) and Mr. Saksit Khaothong (Constituency 9).

According to Thai News Agency, during this visit, Mr. Abhisit stopped for tea, enjoyed sticky rice with fried chicken and roti, and met with local business owners to listen to their opinions and suggestions following the Hat Yai floods at the end of 2025. Business owners expressed their need for the government to accelerate economic recovery and revitalize tourism along the Gulf of Thailand.

Meanwhile, residents of Hat Yai brought their children to take photos with him, along with two campaign posters from the 2001 election of the Democrat Party featuring Mr. Abhisit in a suit and the message "Please vote for the Democrat Party, number 16," for Mr. Abhisit to sign, creating a friendly atmosphere.

Mr. Abhisit then proceeded to Hat Yai Hospital to encourage medical personnel and the public receiving services before visiting Kim Yong Market. Upon arriving at the market, crowds swarmed him, requesting selfies, offering roses, and presenting garlands of marigolds. The atmosphere was lively, with people singing the song "Pak Tai Ban Rao" (Our Southern Homeland) to welcome him. Some also brought photos of Mr. Abhisit from over 20 years ago to ask for his autograph, saying they had admired him since their junior high school days.

Meanwhile, the vendors in the market cheered and shouted in the Southern Thai dialect, "Brother Mark, no rest, we have to sell our goods now! Such a handsome man is here!" This added color and smiles to the campaign atmosphere throughout the day.
