Bangkok: "Akra" maintains that the Ministry of Agriculture is not under the control of Kla Tham, emphasizing that the administration of the country is the responsibility of the Prime Minister. He believes this situation will not lead to any discomfort among the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) and the Bhumjaithai Party. Meanwhile, "Thammanat" has called for a unified meeting of the party on February 19th.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Akkhara Phromphao, Minister of Social Development and Human Security and prospective MP for Phayao Province representing the Kla Tham Party, was asked about the upcoming executive committee meeting on February 19th. He mentioned that he was yet to be informed about the specifics of the opinions to be sought at the meeting, as Mr. Pai Lik, the party's secretary-general, had not communicated with him. Additionally, he noted that he had not spoken with or met Captain Thamanat Phromphao, the party's advisory chairman.
Inquiries regarding his support for Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, as Prime Minister were addressed by Akkra, who stated that decisions would align with the party's executive committee policies. He indicated that the party's secretary-general had already provided some interviews on the matter.
When questioned about the Bhumjaithai Party's potential leading role in the coalition government and whether they should be fundamentally supported, Mr. Akkra described it as a matter of political etiquette. He further elaborated that he had not received any updates from the Kla Tham Party's secretary-general about prospective MPs, expecting to gain clarity at the February 19th meeting.
Regarding the finalization of any deal this week, Mr. Akra expressed uncertainty, stating that he awaited clarification from the party leader and secretary-general. He emphasized the importance of adhering to political etiquette, allowing the leading party to initiate discussions.
When asked about his confidence in forming a government with the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Akkra underscored the need to prioritize the people's welfare, especially given the current economic situation. Addressing rumors about the Bhumjaithai Party taking over the Ministry of Agriculture, he dismissed them as mere news, asserting that the ministry does not belong to Kla Tham and falls under the Prime Minister's jurisdiction.
In response to questions about potential reservations between the Bhumjaithai Party and Kla Tham Party, Mr. Akkra advised against speculation and urged reporters to await the party leader and secretary-general's discussions for a clearer political direction.
