Bangkok: Anucha Burapachaisri, the Democrat Party's candidate for Bangkok Governor, has announced plans to develop dog park areas within public parks as part of his campaign to improve Bangkok's public spaces. Alongside party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, deputy party leaders Dr. Kardee Leowpairoj and Mr. Sakoltee Phatthiyakul, and the party leader's advisor Mr. Ongart Klamphaiboon, Anucha is intensively campaigning in the Khlong Toei and Watthana districts.
According to Thai News Agency, the Democrat Party's executive team visited Benjakitti Park to interact with park users and examine the existing "Dog Park" area, a vital recreational venue for city residents. Anucha engaged with dog owners to understand their concerns and requirements for enhancing public spaces for both humans and pets. The team later proceeded to Ruam Sap Market in Watthana District, accompanied by Mr. Methawin Meesuwan, Bangkok City Council candidate for Watthana District, to connect with local vendors and residents.
Anucha addressed the need for strategic adjustments as the campaign approaches its final phase. He emphasized the importance of working diligently and remaining accessible to the public to effectively communicate policies. Despite opinion polls indicating the party is not leading, Anucha expressed confidence, citing his extensive campaign experience in Bangkok. He believes that being behind in the polls serves as motivation to engage more with the public and promote the party's policies more vigorously.
Anucha reflected on his past experiences, stating, "I'm not worried about the polls because in the past, when I was an MP, I was never number one in any poll. That just motivates me to work even harder. The popularity of the Democrat Party naturally fluctuates, but one thing that can be proven is our sincerity. Our party has served the people for over 80 years, not just during our time in office. And I see it as a good thing that other candidates are mentioning or implementing my policies, because ultimately, the people of Bangkok will definitely benefit."
Looking ahead, Anucha stressed the importance of governance focused on both solving existing issues and fostering a hopeful future for Bangkok. He urged the public to support Democrat Party candidates, ensuring that efforts at both district and policy levels are cohesive and effective in addressing the needs of Bangkok residents.
