Bangkok: Anusorn Iamsaard, a Pheu Thai Party list MP, expressed support for Abhisit Vejjajiva’s re-election as the leader of the Democrat Party for a third term. He emphasized that the Pheu Thai Party is committed to fostering a democratic environment characterized by free and fair competition, steering clear of conflict-driven politics.
According to Thai News Agency, Anusorn highlighted the significance of political parties adhering to democratic values and encouraged competition based on policy rather than power or bias. He stressed that higher quality in political parties translates to more choices for the people, underscoring the importance of politics that prioritize public benefit over mere electoral victories. He called for a constructive form of democracy that is transparent, accountable, and deeply engaged with the populace, advocating for ‘politics that listens more than it fights’ and inspires hope among citizens.

He reaffirmed the Pheu Thai Party’s willingness to participate in building a competitive democratic landscape, asserting that the nation thrives when political competition is robust. He expressed optimism for a future where quality politics prevail, marked by hope rather than conflict, through collaboration across all sectors.
