Mr. Anutin said that the government led by Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Prime Minister, has a policy to seriously solve the drug problem by setting it as an agenda for all sectors to cooperate according to their powers, duties and responsibilities. The Ministry of Interior has received an order from the Prime Minister to set the drug problem as an urgent policy as a proactive measure to prevent, suppress and warn of dangers that undermine society, the economy and national security, especially in terms of human resource development. For this reason, the factor in solving the drug problem will be to create immunity for the youth to prevent them from getting involved with drugs from the beginning by reducing the number of new drug addicts who are youths in the education system. This will require cooperation from schools, universities, and other agencies to prevent students from getting involved with drugs. In addition, teachers and educational personnel, civil servants, and officials must be role models in any form to make the public believe and have faith, which will lead to cooperation in solving the drug problem. Mr. Anutin added that solving the drug problem is directly related to all three ministries in implementing their duties and responsibilities. The Ministry of Interior is directly responsible for enforcing the law with the Royal Thai Police and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board. In addition, it must be done in conjunction with developing the quality of life of people in various areas, including strengthening communities free from addiction, which will enhance the driving force of the economy. He believes that today's signing will make solving the drug problem proceed efficiently, seamlessly, and achieve the goal quickly. He would like to encourage all agencies and sectors to perform their duties strongly to lead to continued prosperity. Mr. Anutin gave an additional interview that yesterday (July 30) there was an order from the Prime Minister, which from now on will be distributed to various provinces to strictly enforce the policy of drug prevention and suppression in all dimensions and forms. All of which the Prime Minister wants to have a re-examination of all areas (Re X-ray), not just doing it once and not following up. Moreover, it must be made a national agenda, with continuous implementation. As for some provinces that are still performing below target, Mr. Anutin said that some provinces have exceed ed the target, met the target, or fallen below the target. If it is below the target, the Ministry of Interior must expedite and ask what the target is because some provinces are not drug trafficking centers, traffic areas, or drug transport routes. The targets in those provinces will be low, with different quantities of drugs. For example, in border provinces or provinces that are drug distribution points, we focus on them all the time to expedite the arrests. Mr. Anutin stated that it can be seen that there are arrests and cooperation with all agencies all the time. He also emphasized that drugs are not produced in our country. If they were produced in our country, the factories would have been destroyed. Wherever we see public utility systems to neighboring countries and illegal activities, such as electrical systems to drug factories, communication lines to call center gangs, etc., he assured that every province has measures to suppress drugs in educational institutions because everyone hates drug networ ks. Whenever they come, they arrest them. Source: Thai News Agency
