Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul has declared that the Bhumjaithai Party is prepared to become the leading party in the upcoming election, emphasizing confidence in the party’s policies and personnel. He indicated that while they are not currently contemplating alliances with the Pheu Thai or Palang Pracharath Party, they are open to partnerships if it aligns with the nation’s best interests.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul, who serves as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, made these remarks in his role as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party during an appearance on “Karmakorn Khao: Off-Screen Talk,” a news program hosted by Sorayuth Suthasanajinda. When questioned about potential alliances with other parties, Anutin suggested that such decisions would be considered at the appropriate time, emphasizing the need for careful thought.
Further discussions on party relationships saw Mr. Anutin expressing that if personal matters and unprofessional conduct could be separated from national affairs, collaboration would be feasible. He mentioned past close ties with former Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, noting her removal from government and the uncertainty of current impacts.
Mr. Anutin further highlighted the Bhumjaithai Party’s strengthened readiness, citing improvements in both personnel and policies. The party, traditionally viewed as a medium-sized entity, now aspires to lead as the number one party. This ambition is backed by their position in government, showcasing their capability, dedication, and expertise in various sectors, including economics and foreign affairs.
Addressing whether the current political journey seemed like a strategic maneuver for Mr. Anutin and the Bhumjaithai Party to regain governance, he acknowledged the party’s preparedness to lead the country. He emphasized that the party’s members possess the necessary spirit, ideology, and skills to govern, and that leadership roles would go to those who are ready.
In response to whether this election serves as a pivotal moment for Mr. Anutin’s potential premiership, given the party’s previous medium-sized status, he stated that he is committed to putting forth his best efforts within his capabilities.
