Anutin Brings Descendants of Thai-Cambodian War Heroes to Prime Minister’s Seat

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul brought descendants of Thai-Cambodian war heroes to the Thai Khu Fah building to sit in the Prime Minister's chair. His son, "Nong Phupha," brought a pillow with his father's picture to join the photo, before singing his father's favorite song, "Khit Thueng" (Missing You).

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul granted an audience to 21 families, totaling 43 individuals, of those who sacrificed their lives in the Thai-Cambodian border clashes. They were taken to Government House to pose for a group photo with the Prime Minister and his wife, Thanon Nirami.

The Prime Minister then led the children of the heroes to his office, where they sat in the Prime Minister's chair and personally signed the certificate honoring them as future Prime Ministers. However, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and pride, as the family of Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakhon, one of the heroes of Hill 350 at Prasat Ta Kwai, also traveled there.

Meanwhile, "Nong Phupha," Jiraphat Sijuijai, brought a pillow shaped like his father, Sergeant Major Theerayut Sijuijai, or Sergeant Jui, a hero of the Battle of Chong Sai Takoo, to join the photo. He briefly revealed that he misses his father, sang "Thinking of You," a song his father taught him, and that he likes the band Silly Fools, which his father often played for him.

At approximately 12:00 PM, the Prime Minister had lunch with the family of the fallen hero, sitting next to Meetang, the daughter of Sergeant Major Satthawat Sujarit, a hero who died in the operation that led to the name "Operation Satthawat." At one point, the Prime Minister's eyes welled up with tears, and he paused for a moment before wiping them away with a tissue.
