Anutin Charnvirakul Addresses Blue Line Cleanup and Interior Ministry Reshuffle Criticism

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, dismissed criticism surrounding the recent reshuffle within the Interior Ministry and the associated cleanup of the Blue Line. He reassured new executives by stating that he never contacted the Permanent Secretary or organized meetings to seek assistance.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed the cabinet’s decision to transfer officials from the Ministry of Interior, which many interpret as a purge of the “blue line” faction. He expressed a commitment to not critique the new administration’s performance, emphasizing that everyone has their unique work style and should implement their policies without external interference. Anutin clarified that the concept of “blue line” or “red line” officials should not exist, as all are civil servants funded by public taxes.

Anutin further explained that during his tenure, he rarely interacted with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, respecting professional boundaries to avoid causi
ng any inconvenience. He assured that there were no intentional meetings or discussions to influence decisions, encouraging the new executives to remain calm and focus on their roles. When questioned about the timing of the transfer and its relation to potential political changes after August 29th, Anutin deferred, suggesting such inquiries be directed elsewhere.
