Anutin Charnvirakul and Deputy Ministers Assume Duties at Ministry of Interior

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by three Deputy Ministers of Interior, entered the ministry on their first day, paying respects to sacred sites and delivering policy directives to civil servants. He affirmed that the Deputy Ministers are capable and will drive the Ministry of Interior's work in a unified direction.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with Deputy Ministers of Interior Jetset Thaiseth, Polpeerap Suwannachawi, and Worasit Liengprasit, paid respects to the sacred objects at the Ministry of Interior upon assuming their duties following the oath of office on April 6, 2026. They were welcomed by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Attasit Sampanrat, and other high-ranking officials.

Upon arrival, Mr. Anutin proceeded to pay homage to the Phra Phuttha Maha Navanak Patimakor Buddha image in the center of the Ministry of Interior building, which was consecrated yesterday by His Eminence Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamongkol Muni (Somdej Thongchai). He then received a salute from the honor guard of the Volunteer Defense Corps (VDC) of the Ministry of Interior, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Volunteer Defense Corps. Following this, he paid respects at the Phra Chai Mongkol Shrine, the Phra Kal Chai Sri Shrine, and the monument to His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the first Minister of Interior. He then ascended the central hall stairs to pay homage to the statue of His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab and entered the reception room to pay homage to the bronze statue of His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab. Finally, Mr. Anutin posed for photographs with government officials and senior executives. He also chaired a meeting with ci vil servants from the Ministry of Interior to deliver policy guidelines at the Ratchasri Meeting Room, and via video conference to provincial halls and district offices nationwide.

Mr. Anutin stated at the beginning of the meeting that he was pleased to return to this role, noting a change this time with the addition of three Deputy Ministers of Interior. He noted that all three are highly capable, even though they may seem young compared to him. He emphasized that their experience as Members of Parliament (MPs) elected directly by the people in their respective constituencies, their roles as committee members and chairpersons, as well as their positions as ministerial secretaries and deputy secretaries to the Prime Minister, give them a deep understanding of the local governance system and the people, particularly in their respective areas of responsibility. He affirmed that all three Deputy Ministers come from the same party, enabling them to work together on policies, thus enabling them to successfully administer the country, and that their work within the Ministry of Interior will proceed in a unified direction.
