Sisaket: Anutin Charnvirakul held four rallies in Sisaket in one day to campaign for his constituency candidate, "Tong Siriphong." He appealed to voters, saying Sisaket is the province he is most concerned about, and promoted his border policy. He asked voters not to worry, questioning "what are we going to find by opening border crossings?" He boasted that Bhumjaithai is the only party Cambodia doesn't want in government because they won't return any territory. He declared that the country is not a testing ground, and that one wrong decision can change the nation's future. He urged voters to choose Bhumjaithai to eliminate the risk to Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, gave a speech to campaign for Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 1, and Mr. Supakit Sihapark, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 2. Also present were Mr. Thana Kitpaiboonchai, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 3; Ms. Jintawan Trisaranakul, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 5; Mr. Asaphol Sarnntraiphop, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 8; and Mr. Witawat Trisaranakul, candidate for Member of Parliament in Sisaket Constituency 9, along with Ms. Traisulee Trisaranakul, a Bhumjaithai Party list candidate.
Mr. Anutin began his speech by greeting the people of Sisaket, saying, "Hello, brothers and sisters of Sisaket. We meet early this morning. I urge you, the people of District 1, to vote for Tong Siriphong, and in District 2, to vote for Tle Suphakit. If you vote for the Bhumjaithai Party candidates, you won't need to campaign anymore; you can prepare to enter parliament right away. You've already seen how Mr. Siriphong has worked and brought honor to the people of Sisaket. His father was a mayor; we are like brothers. Today, I'm campaigning in Sisaket because it's a very important province for the Bhumjaithai Party. The Bhumjaithai Party has been able to exist, grow, and expand the districts where we have MPs to serve the nation and the people, thanks to Sisaket's significant contribution. Otherwise, we wouldn't have started from Buriram and Surin, where we received the trust of the people since I was Minister of Public Health and Minister of Interior. My trusted secretary-general is also from Sisaket, Ms. Tr aisulee, or Kwang. We have a very close relationship."
Mr. Anutin further stated that during the war, Sisaket Province was the province we were most concerned about and received the most support from. At that time, he was not yet Prime Minister. He witnessed the displacement of people, some having to stay in various refugee camps, and thus saw the difficulties and how to manage the problems. He explained that if they had problems with Cambodia, once he became Prime Minister, he could quickly reclaim what belonged to them. He also mentioned the mandate from the people, namely, "Anutin," prohibiting the reopening of border crossings. Therefore, this was an order given to him by the Thai people; he advised against further action.
Mr. Anutin reiterated that after reopening the border, the prices of onions, cassava, rice, mangoes, and sugarcane increased, so what purpose would there be in reopening the border again? He asked everyone not to worry, saying that they share a common feeling of hatred and resentment, wondering why their people are being persecuted. That feeling fills their hearts.
"On February 8th, have you decided yet who you want as Prime Minister? Number 37, right? The Bhumjaithai Party is the only party that Cambodia doesn't want in government. If they come in, they definitely won't open the border crossings. Other parties might open the borders, return territory, and negotiate many other things. So my duty is to tell you this. Do you remember? You still want no negotiations, you still want the borders closed, you still want Anutin as Prime Minister, right? Regarding the border, I want to assure you that it is safe now. No one will interfere again if you choose Anutin as Prime Minister. There's no time for trial periods now because Thailand is not a testing ground for anyone. If we make the wrong decision for even one second, the future of the country can change. The Bhumjaithai Party has only been in power for a few months, and we have made the right decisions. We give you our promise. Choose Bhumjaithai, number 37, and Thailand will be free from risk," said Mr. Anutin.
The atmosphere was lively, with a large crowd flocking to listen to the speeches, filling all 6,000 seats provided. This was the first rally stage for the Bhumjaithai Party in Mueang district, only 2 kilometers from the main rally stage of the Pheu Thai Party, which was being held at the Sisaket United training ground.
Mr. Anutin and his team will then travel to Prang Ku District, Khukhan District, and Kantharalak District to campaign for candidates in Sisaket Province.
