Bangkok: Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the inauguration of the 83rd batch of the High-Level Administrators Training Course (NPS) for the fiscal year 2025. The course, which runs from April 21 to July 4, 2025, aims to train 100 participants, comprising 80 men and 20 women, in advanced administrative skills. The course includes both on-site learning at Vajiravudh Scout Camp in Chonburi Province and off-site study, with participants required to achieve a score of at least 70% to successfully complete the program.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin delivered a special lecture on ‘Executive Experience,’ reflecting on his transition from the private sector to politics and his initial role as a minister. He likened his entry into politics to a cat entering a tiger’s den, emphasizing the importance of having support when navigating new environments. Mr. Anutin highlighted that the course offers civil servants from various ministries an opportunity to enhance their administrative capabilities, granting them parity with senior executive courses from other agencies.
Mr. Anutin further elaborated on the role of an executive, stating that it is not confined to a singular definition. He emphasized the evolution from district officer to district chief, underscoring the importance of leadership and goal attainment. Drawing from his extensive private sector experience, Mr. Anutin noted the challenges of adapting to governmental roles, stressing the necessity of goal-oriented leadership and collaboration with trusted colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
During the lecture, Mr. Anutin encouraged participants to value the 11-week training period as a significant chapter in their lives, fostering friendships and knowledge exchange. He emphasized that the course offers a deeper understanding of executive roles compared to other programs, citing his own journey from engineering to politics and his tenure as Deputy Minister of Public Health despite lacking medical expertise.
Reflecting on his political career, Mr. Anutin shared anecdotes about the unpredictability of political appointments and his eventual transition to the Ministry of Interior. He credited his administrative skills and ability to build relationships with key figures for his successful tenure. Mr. Anutin concluded by urging participants to manage their roles effectively and maintain integrity within the civil service system, advocating for continuous improvement and adaptability in governance.
